- Brief History -

Department of Economics is established in June 1994 and became grantable in 1999.The purpose behind the establishment was to give an opportunity to remote area students, to study Economical aspects in day today life. Department takes care of overall development of students and encourages them to participate in curricular activities such as debating competition, wall paper writing, quiz competition. Department has a short-term course entitled ‘E-Banking’. Department has sufficient infrastructure facilities, learning resources. The Department shares common LCD projector. The Department has a good collection of books in the central library as well as in departmental library. It also has a fair number of quality CDs and DVDs related to subject which enables us to arrange screenings for students when required. Department has two full-time sanctioned posts. Faculty engage in research activities. Students always participate in various competitions, such as poster presentation, Rangoli competition, research avishkar, Cultural programs and research projects.In 2013-14,department has organized two day national seminar on “Challenges before agriculture in India”. The Department and faculty of Arts jointly organized a National Level Conference in 2017-18 on interdisciplinary subjects.

Aims and Objective
1.To impart best knowledge in all spheres of economics to the students
2. To avail economics education for students from rural area.
3.To prepare students for capturing job opportunities available in the field of economics subject.
4.To create the breed of entrepreneurs.
