The Department of Commerce was established in the year 1994 with the establishment of college as Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.). To provide vertical opportunity for academic growth to our students and students from nearby areas, our college introduced post graduate program, Master of Commerce (M.Com.) from the academic year 2013-14. Vision of the department is to provide quality commerce education to all classes of the society. Mission of the department is to impart best knowledge in all spheres of commerce to the student. The department aims at availing commerce education for students from rural areas, preparing students for capturing job opportunities available in the field of commerce and creating the breed of entrepreneurs. The education of commerce has got importance in all time because it provides human resource to primary, secondary and tertiary sector. It prepares the students to get the employment in industry, trade, banking, Insurance and other similar services. It helps to develops the entrepreneur skills and facilitate self-employment. Thus the commerce education has been always the choice of the students considering its needs and significant. The department of commerce offers Certificate Course in Insurance in order to make students aware about Life as well as General insurance, to inculcate theoretical and practical knowledge about insurance among the students and to guide students to develop career in insurance sector. The department conducts Bridge Course in accountancy for the newly admitted students to F.Y.B.Com. from M.C.V.C. and Science stream. Principal Dr. P. G. Pawar is working as BOS member in Accountancy for KBP College, Vashi and SGM College, Karad. He is the co-author of the book on ‘Financial Accounting’ of T. Y. B. Com. The department is using ICT resources in the teaching learning process. The department is organising field visits, guest lectures, student seminars and group discussions for the allround development of the students. The department of commerce organised One Day National Seminar on Management of Fruit Processing Industry in India on Tuesday, 30thJanuary 2018.In total, 140 participants participated in the seminar and 26 papers were presented.

1. To impart best knowledge in all spheres of commerce to the students.
2. To avail commerce education for students from rural area.
3. To prepare students for capturing job opportunities available in the field of commerce.
4. To create the breed of entrepreneurs.
